Q. How many treatments will I need for an injury?

This will be discussed during your initial consultation. Some injuries or conditions can benefit from a single treatment, others may take between four and six treatments depending on location and type/severity of the injury. Successful rehabilitation of an injury or chronic condition also relies on the patient carrying out any recommended rehab exercises.

If you have an injury that requires a medical diagnosis as a matter of urgency, I can refer you (if you wish), to a private clinic for an MRI scan. The cost of the scan is currently £218 - an extremely competitive price - and will be carried out within a matter of days rather than months via the NHS. You will get a clinical diagnosis which can then be treated specifically or be referred back to the medical profession. This can often prove cheaper in the long run than 'chasing the pain' and visiting numerous therapists for treatment - and can get you back to training faster.

Of course, if you train or compete regularly, you may wish to attend on a monthly basis for an 'MOT' to keep your muscles/joints in good condition.

Q. How many Hypnotherapy sessions will I need?

We are all different, we have experienced different situations and stimuli during our lives, and react to them in different ways. The number of sessions will depend largely on the presenting symptoms and how you would like to change the way you feel; the most appropriate course of treatment for you will then be discussed during the initial consultation.

In cases where simple suggestion therapy is used, then one to three sessions will usually prove to be effective. Where the cause of the symptoms is deeper seated then hypnoanalysis is required to get to the root cause. Beween three and eight sessions is usually required for resolution of the symptoms, with six sessions being the norm.

Smoking Cessation is carried out over two to three sessions. Weight Loss is usually a three session programme.

Sessions are ideally carried out on a weekly basis.
